Life after prostate cancer surgery
Life after prostate surgery is not one conversation in Dick's story. It starts with his preparation, moves through waking up after the operation and getting used to recovery at home, then turns to sex and relationships. Episode 3 is the place to begin if the practical side of recovery is on your mind. Dick talks about his catheter, buying pads and leaking when he laughed. Episode 2 explains the preparation that came before it, and Episode 4 continues into intimacy and seeing a sex therapist. The accounts include personal timings and old costs. They belong to Dick's experience, so ask your own care team about your recovery plan rather than using the recordings as a schedule.

Before the operation
Dick remembers his physiotherapist giving him a process to follow, so preparation became something he could focus on instead of sitting at home worrying. Read what the physio sessions meant to Dick. The conversation describes his programme; it does not set exercises for someone else.
At home, and into the next conversation
The recovery episode includes the trip to the chemist and the awkwardness around pads. Read Dick's account of buying and wearing pads, or follow the wider bladder conversations.
Read the guide to asking about pads.
Sex gets a conversation of its own. Dick describes talking through expectations with a therapist, including uncertainty about the outcome. Continue to his account of sex and fertility.
A short clip: Steve asks about the operation
Steve, a veterinary surgeon, asks Dick about the operation he remembers. From Episode 3. This is a personal conversation, not an explanation from a human surgeon.
This is an extract from a personal conversation, not advice about your own health.
